#44 How to Eliminate a Gaping Front Armhole
A gaping front armhole is one of the most common fitting issues I get asked about. It can look like a need for a cup size adjustment, but if the garment is fitting well below the bust line, that may not be the case at all. Sometimes the front armhole is simply a little too long, and reducing that length is all that's needed.
This is probably the easiest fitting issue to correct once you understand what's causing it. This video walks through the pattern adjustment in full, including the sleeve correction that goes with it, because shortening the front armhole affects how the sleeve fits in, and that step is easy to miss.
This is the fourth video in a series on pattern making skills for fitting.
