ABOUT THE WORKSHOP

Join Alexandra Morgan in this beginner apparel pattern making workshop held in partnership with The Makehouse.

In this 7 1/2 hour workshop you will learn proven fashion industry pattern making techniques to professionally draft the women’s woven skirt block using your individual body measurements for a personalized fit.

Participants will leave the class with a skirt block drafted to their personal size and the knowledge of how to make the block for any set of body measurements.

THIS WORKSHOP IS PERFECT FOR YOU
  • if you are an aspiring designer, beginner pattern maker or home sewer wanting to develop your own patterns from a well fitting sloper (basic pattern).
  • if you want to understand how patterns work so that you can improve your sewing, fitting and pattern skills.
  • if you have completed several apparel sewing projects and consider your skills to be at an intermediate level.
  • if you have lot's of enthusiasm and patience for detailed work and aren't afraid of a little basic math.
A FEW IMPORTANT DETAILS

Drafting paper and some tools will be provided for your use during the workshop. Muslin must be pre-purchased and is available at The Makehouse or Gala Fabrics at a discount. Please bring a calculator to class and wear a tank top and leggings to the ensure accurate measurements.
