BUILD, REFINE AND FIT YOUR MADE TO MEASURE PANT BLOCK
The focus of this workshop is to build, refine and fit a pant block for woven fabrics drafted to your personal body measurements. You'll learn professional drafting, pattern making and fitting techniques that will improve your understanding of how patterns work and why most commercial sewing patterns don't fit.
A pant block is a pattern drafted to specific body measurements and made to fit a specific shape. It is the most basic form of all pants and can be used to create new and more elaborate styles through the process of pattern manipulation.
No. However, this is an advanced beginner workshop, which means you are expected to be an intermediate garment sewer who is comfortable doing a lot of basic math, using a measuring tape, ruler and drafting pencil and have the ability to work neatly and precisely. If you are brand new to sewing, this workshop will feel too advanced for you so get a few well executed garments under your belt before you take this workshop.
The class will consist of 8 participants. This will ensure that everyone gets some individual attention, there is ample space to work and we cover the content in the allotted time.
