ABOUT THE WORKSHOP

Join Alexandra Morgan in this beginner apparel pattern making workshop held in partnership with The Makehouse.

In this 12 1/2 hour workshop you will learn proven fashion industry pattern making techniques to professionally manipulate basic blocks to create your own fashion designs. In this hands-on 5 week class you will practice the pattern making skills required for creative style development. 

Students will practice the techniques using scaled block patterns and create a reference book of the exercises covered in class. 

THIS WORKSHOP IS PERFECT FOR YOU
  • if you are an aspiring designer, beginner pattern maker or home sewer wanting to develop your own patterns from a well fitting sloper (basic pattern).
  • if you want to understand how patterns work so that you can improve your sewing, fitting and pattern skills.
  • if you have completed several apparel sewing projects and consider your skills to be at an intermediate level.
  • if you have lot's of enthusiasm and patience for detailed work and aren't afraid of a little basic math.

Drafting paper, scaled block patterns and some tools will be provided for your use during the workshop. Please bring scotch tape, coloured pencils and an eraser to class.
